Lead Painter

J’s Painting is hiring a lead painter to run job sites when Justin is on another project. You’ll be the person the homeowner sees first in the morning and the person the crew looks to during the day. The job is part painter, part foreman, part homeowner liaison.
What you’ll do
- Run interior and exterior residential jobs from setup to walk-through
- Direct a small crew (1–3 helpers) on prep, paint, and cleanup
- Communicate daily with the homeowner — what’s happening today, what’s next
- Read the job and make calls on prep, primer, coats, and sequencing
- Keep the work on schedule and flag issues to Justin before they become problems
- Hold the line on quality — caulking, sanding, clean lines, full coverage
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years professional painting experience, residential focus
- Confident running a job site without daily oversight
- Strong communication — you’re comfortable talking to homeowners and crew alike
- Solid eye for prep and finish work, especially trim
- Valid driver’s license, own transportation
- References from prior jobs
